Chapter Six, THE LESSONS OF LOVE, V. The Lessons of the Holy Spirit
Tom Baker
(tbaker@omega.hrcoxmail.com)
The group consisted mostly of people's sharing of collages, poems, and an
experiential example of the three lessons of the Holy Spirit: A. To Have, Give
All to All, B. To Have Peace, Teach Peace to Learn It, and C. Be Vigilant Only
for God and His Kingdom. The first lesson (A) is a major principle in the
Course's teaching, translating the principle of creation into the principle of
having by giving and learning by teaching. God makes more of the universe
by extending Himself, we have more of Self and know more about Self by
giving and teaching. The second lesson (B) focuses on what is to be given,
namely peace. Peace is the undivided or unmixed gift. Unconditional love is
an example of peace, in that it is not love mixed with greed or lust or
grandiosity. Peace is pure. The third lesson (C) is the practice of identifying
only with God and noticing when that identification is interrupted by listening
to the ego's voice rather than the Voice for God, which is what the Holy Spirit
is. In the text, Jesus states that he was able to listen only to the Voice for
God and not mix it up with the voice of the ego. The following poems are
expressions of one or more of the Holy Spirit's lessons.

Messages From Above
One day the clouds separated and as the sky opened up the angels sang and
god as the spirit of a new born floated to the earth. When the spirit entered
the body it was filled with light and love of god. Then it felt a whisking away
into the arms of a woman where it felt utter joy and love for which there were
yet no words. I watched as these humans passed me around and I felt these
thoughts of others floating around in my head; some were so loving and
others were strange. What a beautiful baby. At first there was a very big
light as I came in to human form and then there were all these sensations,
smells of flowers as they rejoiced in heaven as another angel came to earth.
When god lays you in the hands of your parents a sea of emotions washes
over you as the blanket of human hands caresses you. A place where you will
be molded, cared for, and blessed beyond thoughts. The divine will always
be with you and in you as you travel through your life as a human. We rejoice
in heaven as you have wonderful experiences and especially when you
express your laughter and joy to be alive.
