My therapy is based on my conviction that the keys to mental health and wholeness are already within the individual. Basic to my approach is the belief that the human person is grounded in a spiritual reality, which is expressed in physical, psychological, and social forms. My interventions include EMDR, Hypnosis, the Ennegram (fear type recognition), and Gestalt techniques. I do psychotherapy with both individuals and couples between the ages of 18 and up and am an in-network provider for Medicare, Anthem (Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO), Tricare, all Optima plans, Magellan and several EAP programs.

My spiritual direction is based on my twenty-three years as a spiritual director, my life long study of the work of Edgar Cayce, my ten years as a Catholic priest, and my being a long time student and facilitator of A Course In Miracles. Spiritual direction is entirely different and separate from the work I do as a clinical social worker. The goal of spiritual direction is the deeper realization in the directee of his or her spiritual identity and purpose. Spiritual direction is not covered by any insurance plans.

Professional Vitae
I received my Masters Degree in Divinity (M. Div.) from St. Meinrad School of Theology in 1980 and was ordained a Catholic priest for the Archdiocese of Louisville the same year. I served in two parishes, St. Gabriel's and St. Bernard's, from 1980 to 1985, then taught homiletics and was an administrator at St. Meinrad School of Theology for the next five years until my resignation from the priesthood in 1990. I married in 1992. I received my Masters in Social Work from Norfolk State University in 1994 and received my license to practice independently (L.C.S.W.) in 1996. I practiced at Wellspring Psychotherapy from 1996 to 2006 when I left to start Omega Psychotherapy located at 923 First Colonial Road, ste. 1809 in Virginia Beach. Omega's mission is "healing into wholeness". On April 18th, 2011 Omega Psychotherapy moved back to Wellspring and now resides at 2940 North Lynnhaven Road, suite 130, still in Virginia Beach.
